CAFRAD highlights Africa\u2019s strategic role in a world undergoing reconfiguration<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

CAFRAD took part in the 2025 edition of the MEDays Forum, which was held in Tangier from November 26 to 29 under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.<\/p>\n

This 17th edition focused on the theme \u201cFractures and Polarization: Reinventing the Global Equation,\u201d emphasizing global reconfigurations, Africa\u2019s growing role on the international stage, and the rise of the Global South.<\/p>\n

The event brought together more than 7,000 participants from 120 countries, including Heads of State, Ministers, business leaders, and international experts, providing a unique platform to discuss major strategic challenges, notably food security, the energy transition, and state resilience.<\/p>\n

The MEDays Investment Summit, held on the morning of November 26, opened the Forum\u2019s proceedings, highlighting Morocco as a regional hub thanks to its political stability, strong industrial and financial ecosystem, the quality of its human resources, and its strategic geographic position.<\/p>\n

During this edition, the MEDays Grand Prize 2025 was awarded to three African leaders: the President of The Gambia, H.E. Adama Barrow; the President of Liberia, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai; and the Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, in recognition of their strategic alignment and commitment to Morocco.<\/p>\n

Participants, including Heads of State, Ministers, and speakers, also welcomed the recent diplomatic progress related to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 (2025) on the Moroccan Sahara, underscoring the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in consolidating stability and dialogue in the region.<\/p>\n

Discussions focused on the \u201cthree I\u2019s\u201d\u2014infrastructure, industries, and investments\u2014which are essential to support economic growth in Africa and the Global South, as well as on strengthening African sovereignty, regional cooperation, and South\u2013South partnerships, while exploring the opportunities generated by current crises and transformations in the global order.<\/p>\n

CAFRAD\u2019s participation in this Forum illustrates its active commitment to Africa\u2019s institutional and economic development. It reflects its role in debates on African leadership and innovation, as well as on strengthening regional cooperation and South\u2013South partnerships, thereby contributing to shaping sustainable solutions for the future of the continent.<\/p>\n
