On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Director General of African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD), Dr. Coffi Dieudonn\u00e9 ASSOUVI, together with the entire staff, extends warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Muslim communities across Africa and throughout the world. They convey their sincere wishes for peace, good health, and prosperity during this sacred month. May Allah, the Most Merciful, grant everyone the strength and guidance to fulfill this divine obligation, one of the five pillars of Islam.<\/p>\n

CAFRAD also expresses its deep solidarity with Muslims who, for reasons beyond their control, are unable to observe the fast. May they be surrounded with divine mercy and blessings.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Ramadan: A Time of Spirituality and Generosity<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ramadan holds profound significance for Muslims around the globe. During this blessed month, believers fast each day from dawn until sunset, embracing a spirit of faith, compassion, and solidarity.<\/p>\n

This sacred period commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. According to Islamic tradition, the first revelation occurred during Laylat al-Qadr<\/em> (the Night of Power), regarded as the most sacred night of the year.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Month of Worship and Unity<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beyond fasting, Ramadan is a time devoted to prayer, reflection, recitation of the Quran, acts of charity, and the strengthening of family and community bonds.<\/p>\n

Throughout the month, mosques host special nightly prayers known as Tarawih<\/em>, performed after the Isha<\/em> prayer. These prayers, unique to Ramadan, provide worshippers with an opportunity to listen to the recitation of the Quran and deepen their spiritual connection.<\/p>\n

Tarawih<\/em> prayers also serve as meaningful moments of gathering, uniting men, women, and youth in a spirit of brotherhood, contemplation, and solidarity. In addition to their religious significance, they nurture social cohesion and reinforce a shared sense of belonging within the Muslim community.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Between Religious Values and Institutional Commitment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each year, millions of Muslims around the world\u2014whether in France, Morocco, Indonesia, Turkey, or elsewhere\u2014observe Ramadan, reflecting diverse cultures and traditions yet united by common faith and devotion.<\/p>\n

Ramadan is far more than a period of abstinence; it is a time of purification, patience, self-discipline, and spiritual renewal. Through solidarity and reflection, it encourages believers to evaluate their actions and strengthen their faith.<\/p>\n

May the blessings of this holy month extend to all Muslims in Africa and across the world.<\/p>\n
