RABAT, the 25th<\/sup> April 2025 \u2013 The Director General of CAFRAD, with a deep sadness and strong emotions, directs his sincere condolences to the Beninese government, people, and the bereaved families, following the terrorist attacks that took place on the 17th<\/sup> of April in northern Benin. These barbaric acts, tragically, cost the lives of 54 soldiers of the Beninese Armed Forces while defending their party.<\/p>\n

In an act of compassion and solidarity, the Director General of CAFRAD and the ensemble of the institution\u2019s personnel firmly condemned these inhumane acts marked with cowardice and barbarism. CAFRAD, as a whole, wanted to express its solid support for the Beninese people in these terrible ordeals.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019The courage shown by these soldiers who fell in the defence of their party will never be forgotten,\u2019\u2019 he emphasised. \u2018\u2019Their memory will be etched in our hearts as a symbol of bravery, determination, and engagement in peace and the security of our dear continent\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Seamlessly, CAFRAD renounced its commitment to the fundamental values of peace, liberty, and democracy. This is while renewing its firm opposition to all forms of obscurantism, intolerance, fundamentalism and violent extremism.<\/p>\n

Finally, special thoughts were addressed to the injured as well as the families affected by this calamity, with wishes of courage and returning comfort to surmount this tragedy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
