On the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Sudan, celebrated on 1 January 2026, Dr. Coffi Dieudonné ASSOUVI, Director General of the African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD), extends his warmest congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, President of the Republic, to the Government, and to the people of Sudan.

This national commemoration marks a significant moment in the country’s history and recalls the determination that led to the building of a sovereign State. CAFRAD commends the continued efforts undertaken by Sudan to strengthen its institutions, modernize its public administration, and promote sustainable development for the benefit of its citizens.

On this occasion, CAFRAD reaffirms its readiness to support Sudan in its public service capacity-building initiatives, through training and research programmes aligned with national priorities, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Finally, CAFRAD conveys its wishes for peace, prosperity, and success to the Republic of Sudan, and expresses the hope that cooperation between our two institutions will be further strengthened.
