CAFRAD was present on June 12th, at the ceremony of the celebration of the 248 th
anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. The celebration was held
at the Embassy of the United States in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
For this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Puneet TALWAR, Ambassador of the United
Stated in Morocco, gave a speech. He explained the choice of the theme of this year’s
celebration which was “Space Exploration”. This choice was a reminder of the feats and
ambitious goals that are the DNA of the United States. It is about the founders’ faith in
democratic self-governance. The exploration of space today constitutes one of the great
scientific challenges of our time.
His Excellency the Ambassador then highlighted the importance of the friendly
diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America,
reminding us of the decision of Sultan Mohammed III, which made Morocco the first country
to recognize the new State.
