HealthTech 2026: CAFRAD, Co-Organizer of the Major Pan-African Digital Health Event in Rabat

The African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD) is pleased to host, at its headquarters in Rabat, Morocco, as co-organizer, the HealthTech Congress 2026, a major scientific event to be held from February 10 to 12, 2026.

Organized jointly with the Moroccan Society for Digital Health (SMSD) and the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT), this international event will bring together two flagship conferences: the Global Summit of Digital Health (GSDH) and the Smart Healthcare International Conference (SHeIC).

A Scientific and Strategic Crossroads for Africa

HealthTech 2026 builds on the success of previous editions, including the one held during GITEX Africa 2025, and aims to become a continental hub for research and innovation in digital health.

The congress seeks to position Morocco as a center for technological transfer and scientific cooperation between Africa and its international partners, in line with the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, for a united, innovative, and sovereign Africa.

CAFRAD, a Driver of Governance and Digital Transformation

As an intergovernmental Pan-African organization, CAFRAD places digital transformation at the core of its mission to modernize public administration.

Under the leadership of its Director General, Dr. Coffi Dieudonné ASSOUVI—who also serves as Honorary President of HealthTech 2026—the Centre brings its institutional and strategic expertise to make digital technology a lever for performance, equity, and sustainability in African health systems.

This co-organization follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on July 29, 2025, in Rabat between CAFRAD and the Moroccan Society for Digital Health (SMSD). This partnership marks an important milestone toward the creation of a Pan-African digital health ecosystem grounded in governance, scientific research, and technological innovation.

Central Theme: “Harnessing Technology for Health Equity”

Under the theme “Harnessing Technology for Health Equity: Bridging the Gaps, Empowering Communities,” the 2026 edition will highlight major advances in artificial intelligence, telemedicine, big data, medical robotics, and ethical governance in the field of health.

Researchers, clinicians, engineers, public decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and institutional partners will gather to discuss technological solutions capable of reducing inequalities in access to healthcare and accelerating the transformation of health systems across the continent.

A Space for Cooperation, Innovation, and Scientific Visibility

The program will feature plenary sessions, training workshops, parallel sessions, a technology exhibition, and networking spaces to foster synergies among public, private, and academic actors.

Papers selected by the scientific committee will be published in Scopus-indexed volumes, ensuring international visibility.

HealthTech 2026 thus positions itself as a Pan-African platform of excellence where science meets public policy to build the foundations of a digital, resilient, and sovereign Africa.
