The general director of CAFRAD, Dr. ASSOUVI, has been invited as guest of honour to the Group of African Ambassadors meeting in Morocco: CAFRAD confirms once again its engagement in modern and transformative public governance in Africa.

Rabat, Thursday, 24 April 2024—The general director of CAFARAD, Dr. C. Dieudonné ASSOUVI, was honoured to accept the invitation to participate as a guest of honour in the meeting of the Group of African Ambassadors in Morocco (GAAM). This invitation serves as a witness to the institutional recognition of the institution’s member states, allowing for strengthening links of cooperation and collaboration between CAFRAD and the African diplomatic representations accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco.

Within this high-level diplomatic meeting, the General Director of CAFRAD had the opportunity to represent the broad lines of the Programme of Strategic Action of the Organisation, which was a fruit of an axed version on the systematic transformation of the African Public Administrations. This moment of constructive exchange was also an occasion for recalling the importance and urgent need to modernise the administrative structures of the content, considering the global challenges, the current geographical transformations, and the rapid expansion of the use of AI.

The intervention of the General Director was to highlight the ambition of CAFRAD in supporting the member states in the training of future African Leaders: future managers and officials in a decomplicated sense, with strong ethics, visionaries, and resolutely turning to the adaptation of transformation and innovation in the sense of public governance. CAFRAD seeks, thereby, to consolidate, through its new programme, its role as a catalyser of profound and sustainable changes within the African administrations.

Dr. ASSOUVI recalled that this programme has been officially transmitted to the member states, inviting them to participate actively in the joint organisation of proposed activities and mobilising their human resources for an efficacious and motivated participation. This dynamic of central and primary collaboration for the success of the CAFRAD revival strategy, which cannot be achieved totally without renewing the confidence of the state members through concrete actions, beyond the issue of financial contributions that remains, equally, an imperative condition for the success of action programmes.

CAFRAD, as an intergovernmental pan-African organisation, firmly believes in its academic, technical, and intellectual support for its member states, including implementing intellectual and strategic public markets for national officials.

From another perspective, this meeting was marked with a joint presentation alongside the President of the Tamkine Foundation, pleading for an adaptation of the Decade 2026-2036 as a Decade of Education in Africa, which is to be submitted to the African leaders of states of the African Union. This initiative comes as part of the agenda of 2063 and seeks to reinforce African human capital to address the challenges of the 21st century.

CAFRAD renews its participation in serving its member states and its close collaborative work with its strategic partners and public and private actors to establish public African governance as a lever of inclusive, equitable, sustainable development.
