CAFRAD CELEBRATES THE NATIONAL DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CABO VERDE AND REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO AFRICAN COOPERATION

On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Cabo Verde—celebrated annually on July 5th to mark the country’s attainment of independence in 1975—the African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD) extends its warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Cabo Verde on behalf of its Director-General, its Governing Board, and its entire staff.
This celebration is an event of great historical and symbolic significance. It pays tribute to the courage, determination, and vision of the men and women who worked to secure Cabo Verde’s national sovereignty, while reaffirming the values of freedom, dignity, solidarity, and unity that continue to inspire the nation-building process in Cabo Verde.
Since gaining independence, Cabo Verde has distinguished itself through an unwavering commitment to democracy, the rule of law, institutional stability, and good governance. Thanks to ambitious public policies and rigorous institutional management, the country is now recognized for significant strides in human development, public administration modernization, digital governance, transparency, and citizen participation. These achievements illustrate the pivotal role that an effective public administration plays in fostering inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development.
CAFRAD commends this remarkable progress, which serves as an inspiration for African public administrations engaged in reform and institutional transformation processes. It also underscores the importance of placing innovation, capacity building, quality public services, and continuous governance improvement at the heart of national development strategies. As a pan-African intergovernmental organization specializing in public administration capacity building, CAFRAD remains firmly committed to supporting member states in their efforts to modernize and professionalize the civil service and to promote effective, inclusive, and results-oriented governance. In this regard, CAFRAD values its cooperative relationship with the Republic of Cabo Verde and reaffirms its determination to strengthen partnerships, foster the sharing of knowledge and best practices, and support initiatives that contribute to an increasingly high-performing public administration serving the citizens.
On this auspicious occasion, CAFRAD extends its sincere wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued progress to His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Government, and the people of Cabo Verde. It hopes that this National Day will serve as a renewed opportunity to celebrate the country’s achievements, consolidate its democratic values, and further strengthen the bonds of cooperation, solidarity, and integration among African peoples.
Through this celebration, CAFRAD renews its commitment to working alongside its member states toward an Africa with innovative, high-performing public administrations capable of effectively meeting citizens’ aspirations and addressing the challenges of sustainable development.
CAFRAD wishes the Republic of Cabo Verde a wonderful National Day and reiterates its full readiness to continue fruitful cooperation for the development of the African continent.
