CAFRAD Participates in the International Conference at ENSI Tangier as Part of ASI TANGER 2026

On September 28, 2026, the African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD) took part in an international conference held at the National School of Engineering Sciences (ENSI) in Tangier, as part of the 30th edition of the International Forum on Applied Sciences and Innovation – ASI TANGER 2026.

Organized by the CNPSI in collaboration with the Research, Development & Innovation division of ENSI Tangier, the event brought together academics, researchers, educators, doctoral candidates, students, and professionals to explore various themes related to energy transition, innovation, financing, and sustainable development.

Discussions on Key Issues in Innovation and Development

The conference featured a diverse scientific program, bringing together both Moroccan and international speakers.

Prof. Anas El Maakoul, from the International University of Rabat (UIR), delivered a presentation on the energy transition in Morocco, covering its challenges, opportunities, and future research prospects in the field.

Prof. Mariam Jadal, also from the UIR, presented research on the characterization of a heat exchanger-storage unit with enhanced conductivity, highlighting advancements in applied research within the energy sector.

Meanwhile, Prof. Mouhcine Chekkour, from ENSI, addressed the topics of investment and innovation in Morocco, with a specific focus on financing mechanisms designed to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The international dimension of the gathering was strengthened by contributions from Prof. Zeynep Özsoy of Altınbaş University (Turkey), who discussed the role of energy cooperatives in building a sustainable future, and Prof. Zulal Denaux of the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration (United States), who presented an analysis of the impact of public and private investment on growth, accounting for variations in income levels and institutional quality.

CAFRAD’s commitment to research and innovation

CAFRAD’s participation in this conference reflects its keen interest in initiatives that foster dialogue between scientific research, innovation, public policy, and development.

As a Pan-African institution dedicated to training, research, and capacity building in the field of public administration, CAFRAD places great value on engaging with academic institutions, research centers, and stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.

The Centre’s presence at the event also provided an opportunity to deepen ties with the academic and scientific community, explore new avenues for cooperation, and stay attuned to developments that could contribute to improving public action and fostering sustainable development in Africa.

An international platform for knowledge sharing

Through ASI TANGER 2026, ENSI Tanger continues to promote research, innovation, and knowledge sharing by bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds.

CAFRAD is pleased to have been part of this dynamic and reaffirms its commitment to initiatives that promote scientific cooperation, innovation, capacity building, and sustainable development across the African continent.
