August 13, 2026, marks the 66^th anniversary of the independence of the Central African Republic, proclaimed in 1960 at the conclusion of the decolonization process that redrew the political map of the African continent. This date reflects the enduring legacy of the founding momentum driven by Barthélémy Boganda, whose vision of a sovereign Central African state remains a touchstone in the country’s collective memory.

As an active member of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) and the African Union, the Central African Republic—under the leadership of President Faustin-Archange Touadéra—continues on a path of institutional reconstruction and peacebuilding, guided by the founding values ​​of Unity, Dignity, and Work that shape the national motto.

On the occasion of this anniversary, the Director-General of CAFRAD, Dr. Coffi Dieudonné Assouvi, extends his warmest congratulations to the people and authorities of the Central African Republic. The Organization commends the efforts made regarding governance and institutional development and reaffirms its readiness to support the Central African Republic in strengthening its administrative capacities, in the interest of lasting peace and shared development.
