Message of Solidarity with the Republic of Mali in the Face of Recent Terrorist Attacks

The African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD), a pan-African intergovernmental organization, learned with dismay and deep concern of the coordinated terrorist attacks perpetrated in several cities of the Republic of Mali, including Bamako, the capital, and Kati.
In these painful moments, CAFRAD expresses its sincere condolences and profound compassion to the Malian people and to the highest authorities of the Republic of Mali, and strongly condemns the terrorist attacks perpetrated on Malian territory on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, 2026.
These tragic acts, which caused loss of life, including that of the Minister of Defense and some members of his family, and inflicted suffering on the civilian population, constitute a serious threat to the peace, security, and stability of the region.
CAFRAD extends its sincere condolences to the Government and people of Mali, as well as to all the bereaved families. It also expresses its support for all those affected by this tragedy and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.
Committed to stability, CAFRAD reaffirms its unwavering support for respect for international law, peace, security, and the development of the institutional and human capacities of African public administrations. It believes that strengthening resilient institutions is a bulwark against the threats facing states.
Faced with these shared challenges, CAFRAD urges all national, regional, and international actors to engage in a collective and coherent effort to preserve stability, promote good governance, and guarantee lasting peace in Mali and Africa.
CAFRAD expresses its full support for all initiatives aimed at restoring the territorial integrity of Mali and pledges to assist the Republic of Mali in its efforts to rebuild the state and reform the security sector.
