Rabat, Thursday November 21, 2024 – The Director-General of CAFRAD, Dr. Coffi Dieudonné ASSOUVI, and his delegation were received in audience at the chancellery by H.E. Mr. Najeed A.B MOHAMMED, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Libya to the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat.

This visit is part of CAFRAD’s initiative to be closer to its Member States, and to remind them of the relevance of this historic institution via its agenda. This approach was started by Dr. ASSOUVI as soon as he took office, and is already seeing its first fruits in terms of positive feedback received from the visited Embassies. In this perspective, Dr. ASSOUVI wished to reiterate his sincere thanks to His Excellency Mr. MOHAMMED and the Government of Libya, for their constant support to the Pan-African Institution, as well as to its mandate. It is important to remember that Libya has always contributed to the life of CAFRAD, and has always been concerned about the influence of the institution, through contacts and even official visits.

Following the presentation of the institution’s activities His Excellency Mr. Najeed A.B MOHAMMED asked many qyestions to Dr. ASSOUVI, concerning the preferred training areas, the training locations, or even if CAFRAD takes into account new current economic and geostrategic issues in its training programs. This exchange session notably allowed CAFRAD to better understand Libya’s current needs in terms of training themes intended for senior officials, namely the rapid development of digitalization, its benefits and harms, or the implementation of intelligent infrastructures to counteract the cycles of crises generated by the postmodern world and technological advances. These projects do indeed appear in the new roadmap that CAFRAD intends to present shortly at the Partners’ Round Table, the date of which will be known shortly.
